Stand Up Paddle Boarding

SUP at the beach

SUP at the beachStand Up Paddling (SUP) became popular in Hawaii in the 1950′s and is an offshoot of surfing. It is the fastest growing water sport worldwide where you use a long single ended paddle to move through the water while standing on a surf style inflatable board. The sport is a fantastic all over body work out, especially for strengthening core and upper body muscles.

We do not do Stand Up Paddle lessons here at Saltburn Surf School.  Due to the very nature of the sea, it is unpredictable and Stand Up Paddle Boarding presents many dangers.  We do hire out SUP’s (£10 PER HOUR) but only if the conditions are safe. We are happy to offer you some tips to get you started. If however, you are interested in a lesson then please get in touch and we can point you in the right direction, but  likely that lessons will be carried out on the rivers and lakes nearby.

Restrictions

We can cater for ages 12 upwards with no upper age limit.

The individual participating must be able to swim 50m.
